The younger brother of Black Stars midfielder Mubarak Wakaso, Alhassan, has joined Portuguese side Vitoria Guimarães on a three year deal.
Alhassan joins the Portuguese side from Lorient, who were relegated from the French top flight last season.
Vitoria initially submitted a bid for a loan deal to take the Ghanaian star, but Lorient were adamant to sell only for a permanent deal.
Alhassan previously played in Portugal for Rio Ave, before moving to France with Lorient.
“I’m very happy I’m in Vitoria Guimaraes. It is a very good club and a very big club and I am here to achieve something for the team, to make the team big and it is going to be good for me too.” he told the club’s official website upon signing.
“I’m here to fight for the team and fight for the fans.”
