8 Ghanaians Petiton Canadian Government To Pressure Ghana To 'Promote Respect For All LGBTQ S*xual Minorities'

Eight gay Ghanaians in Canada are planning to petition to Canadian government to put pressure on Ghana to recognize the rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bis*xual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) members of our country.
According to the group, Ghanaian LGBTQ members are treated worse than animals and is calling for Canada to exert diplomatic pressure on Ghana to recognize their rights.
And we all know how gay people are treated in this country – more than a few of them have been brutalized in different instances – some hitting the media and some do not.
Sulemana Abdulai, the leader of the group, has launched a change.org petition and is calling for homos*xuality to be decriminalized.
Current Speaker of Parliament, Mike Ocquaye, has made it clear that Ghana has no patience for LGBTQ rights, which they see as an abomination against God.
Of course, gay rights is not a religious issue but a civil one, but you surely can’t trust anyone in power in Ghana to make that subtle distinction, so dense are they.
