Kwaw Kese should be hauled before Parliament’s privileges committee to explain himself just as it once happened with Blakk Rasta, Member of Parliament for Kumbungu, Ras Mubarak, has said.
According to the lawmaker, Kwaw Kese certainly has to face the music for claiming some MP’s smoke weed.
The ‘man insane’ made headlines after a recent appearance on Joy Fm during which he admitted to be a serial marijuana smoker despite his imprisonment for it.
Making the case that marijuana is normal, Kwaw Kese alleged he knew of ‘big men’ in the country, including an MP, who smoke the substance and are able to function.
His comments echo similar ones by Blakk Rasta years ago which led to a summons by Parliament for him to answer questions on his claim, and Mubarak says the same must happen for Kwaw.
“A precedent has been set; looking at the fact that somebody (Blakk Rasta) made similar comments and was dragged before the Privileges Committee. It will come across as unfair treatment on Blakk Rasta if this issue is not looked at by the Privileges Committee of Parliament,” he said.
Mubarak also dared the rapper to name the MP’s he claims are smokers.
“It is a very reckless statement, and for me, it is one of those headline grabbing statements that seems to bring attention to members of parliament unnecessarily,” the MP said.
“If he indeed knows members of parliament who are smoking marijuana, he should actually come public with the names,” he added.
