The Ghana Revenue Authority has shut down Abraham Ohene Djan’s OM Studio near North Kaneshie in Accra over a tax bill of over 300,000 GHS, GhanaCelebrities.Com has gathered.
The GRA visited the offices of OM Studio and locked it up—slamming several of their “Keep Off” yellow labels at the entrances over OM Studio’s failure to pay taxes owed.
Following this, GhanaCelebrities.Com has spoken to several employees of OM Studio who say as a result of the GRA tax issue and bad management, the business has literally been shut down.
It has further been alleged by some of these employees that, their now defunct employer-OM Studio also failed to make SSNIT contributions for them.
Some employees told GhanaCelebrtiies.Com that they were not even paid from January to around April by OM Studio and as such had to leave the company.
GhanaCelebrities.Com reached out to Abraham Ohene Djan who is currently in the United Kingdom to ascertain the veracity or otherwise of the GRA complete shutdown and allegations of SSNIT non-payments.
Ohene Djan said he’s aware the GRA recently went to his office with TV crew to shut it down—adding that, it is an unfortunate development as his company was in the process of contesting the tax bill which led to the visit.
Responding to allegations that his company failed to also pay SNNIT contributions for a number of employees, he said; some of the people that worked with his company were not necessarily employees which means the company did not need to make such contributions on their behalf. Therefore, unless he gets a list of names, he couldn’t really comment on this.
As shown by these photos, OM Studio remains closed down–and the GRA labels are in tact.
