Light heavyweight boxer Bukom Banku has escaped jail time in a case of assault brought against him as the judge discharged him with nothing but a mere slap on the wrist.
Banku was standing trial for allegedly assaulting a woman, but the case has reportedly been settled out of court.
Appearing in court, the judge discharged the boxer, but warned him to remain of good behaviour. He was fined Ghc 180, with the judge admonishing the brash boxer to be a role model to the youth in his conduct.
“As a boxer, you should be a role model to the youth,” Presiding Judge Arit Nsemoh told the boxer.
