The case involving the Marwako pepper victim might be solved out of court after all, as an expected final ruling to be delivered today was postponed.
The trial judge was expected to deliver the final verdict today, July 26, yet failed to do so when the case was called up today.
This was due to the fact that the lawyer for the accused, Jihad Chaaban, informed the court that an out of court settlement had been reached by the two parties in the case.
The lawyer thus tendered the settlement in. The judge thus adjourned to better study the settlement before ruling.
According to GhOneTv, whilst a figure was not released in court, it’s estimated the settlement could reach as much as Ghc 20,000.
Chaaban was in court after he dipped the face of one of the workers at Marwako, Evelyn Boakye, into pepper, allegedly for destroying a blender belonging to the company.
The case has been adjourned to August 2.
