Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, has been pictured by citizens of his country for the first time in close to three months.
Buhari hosted state governors from his party at his current abode in London on Sunday.
A government statement after the meeting said the President was in a cheerful mode and engaged the governors in conversation. A photo of the meeting was also released, giving Nigerians and the rest of the world the first glimpse of Buhari in a long while.
The Nigerian leader left the country in May for the UK to seek treatment for an unspecified illness. That was the second time since ascending office that Buhari has been domiciled in London for his illness which the government has been tight-lipped about.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has been running the country in the absence of the President.
