Former deputy Tourism Minister, Dzifa Gomashie, has entreated the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to protect the EC boss from those calling for her head.
In an open letter to the President on social media, Gomashie notes that it’s difficult enough for women to get into powerful positions and therefore those in there need to be protected.
Dzifa Gomashie’s letter comes on the back of agitation by workers of the Commission calling for Mrs Osei, who was appointed in the last year of the previous government.
She is being accused of mismanaging the Commission and financial malfeasance.
Dzifa Gomashie posted her plea on Facebook, calling for Charlotte Osei and Constance Ama Emefa Edjeani-Afenu, the female in the Brigadier General in the Ghana Armed Forces, who’s also facing some agitations, to be shielded by the President.

Dear H. E. President Nana Akufo-Addo,
Please protect these women as you would your sisters. I have read a petition and an article by a soldier online and I am really upset and horrified.
Please leave them alone.
These women are intelligent and have earned the positions they occupy.
The journey to 30% Affirmative Action for women is a long one. …
This is a personal request/favour I am making to you.
Thank you, Sir.
