The US sports website ESPN has compiled a list of the most influential people in football and Ghana’s FA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, finds his way into the top 50.
The man who has led Ghana football since 2005 finished in the 46th position on the 100 person list.
Nyantakyi has gradually amassed power over the years first as GFA President, then as a member of both the CAF and Fifa Executive Committees. He became even more powerful earlier this year when he was named as the Vice President of the continental governing body CAF.
Globally, Fifa President Gianni Infantino is undoubtedly named as the most powerful person in the game. Infantino is followed by Bayern Munich guru Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin.
Super agents Jorge Mendes and Mino Raiola finish 5th and 8th respectively, whilst the best two players in the world, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, also finish at 7th and 10th respectively.
