Former President John Dramani Mahama has expressed gratitude to God that he lost the 2016 elections, probably to the shock of NDC followers everywhere.
Mahama made the point during a meeting with the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr Osman Nuhu Sharubutu.
Mahama was responding to comments by the Chief Imam, made through his spokesperson, that Mahama’s defeat could turn out to be a blessing in disguise for him.
In response, the 44.4% President acquiesced, saying God had a plan which led to him losing the election therefore he was thankful for that.
Mahama added that God was probably preparing him for a better calling which was why he lost, and he believes God’s plan would eventually be revealed in it entirety.
