A self styled evangelist, Solomon Yidana, has been arraigned before court for defrauding his fiancee of Ghc 165,000.
Yidana took the money from his fiancee, Bernice Kennedy, after convincing her that he would be able to purchase a vehicle that she needed for her; yet after receiving it she got no car in exchange.
She therefore reported the issue to police, who arrested the evangelist and placed him before court.
The prosecuting officer told the court that Bernice decided to buy a car last year, a Mercedes GL450.
Having told Yidana of her plans, he promised her he could buy her the vehicle from a dealer in Togo, so she handed him the Ghc 165,000 to buy the vehicle.
However, the car never came and the fed up Bernice reported the issue to police.
Yidana was arraigned before court Monday, where he pleaded not guilty. The case was adjourned to July 24 and Yidana granted bail in the sum of Ghc 165,000.
