Note: I decided to publish these screenshots of conversations with Leila Djansi because she first published a small portion on Facebook through her sister to make a point—and she said I can go ahead to publish mine, denying that these conversations ever took place as friends.
I have decided to publish this piece purely for web reference sake and not to really highlight to people the sort of toxic individual and mini-despot film-maker Leila Djansi is—but I believe the few sensible ones out there may be able to appreciate the value of this.
Over the years and because of my work as the Founding Editor of Ghana’s most read Entertainment and Celebrity focused online media outlet, I’ve made a lot of celebrity friends. Mostly, these people want one thing—to be friends so they can control our content to their favour.
And I’ve falling out with several celebrity friends too, because of this same one thing. I am extensively obstinate and unbending when it comes to anyone trying to tell me what to write about themselves or about another person, even if this person is a friend.
To me, the value of my conscience is my ability to stay true to what I honestly hold as a belief and say so when I want, and not to have someone pulling the strings in the shadow.
One of the celebrities I was friends with and fell out with is film-maker Leila Djansi, a cunning toxic character who after our fall out has been on my case unendingly—even when I’ve not personally written anything about her or her works, except in response to what she may have said about me.
What Leila has for years been saying and writing about me was repeated over the weekend when she wrote on Facebook about Christabel Ekeh’s issue, throwing jabs at me and GhanaCelebrities.Com—and even suggesting that I made Christabel Ekeh insane by giving her undeserving publicity or fame.
Note, this same Leila begged for attention, publications and hype more than Christabel Ekeh.
Even if Christabel is insane as she has confidently concluded, how could she have ascertained amongst all the things in the world that the hype GhanaCelebrities.Com gave her when she became an actress was the cause of the insanity?
It makes no sense but to Leila, that was an opportunity to once again go for GhanaCelebrities.Com and myself—a platform she called a ‘ BP increasing’ blog and yet continues to read every minute.
To me, Leila Djansi is a deluded over hyped ignorant insecure black woman—in fact, the most insecure industry person I’ve ever come across.
She used to say her size makes her insecure and that people take her for granted a lot of times but I later realised, she is actually the problem and has deep issues, the source of her insecurity.
When you ever meet Genevieve Nnaji, Socrate Sarfo, Akorfa Asiedu and many others, you can decide to throw Leila’s name into the conversation—but be prepared to hear some horrible shocking things this woman has done.
She used to talk to me about how it was difficult for her to even meet a man who will stay–and I remember how I used to tell her, she will definitely meet someone who will appreciate her, irrespective of whatever. Today, I seem to know why the men wouldn’t bother as she is the problem–not everyone else.
Leila is extensively pathetic and that’s why I fell out with her.
She was a good friend, by some measure as we used to chat a lot on almost everything
She used to give GhanaCelebrities.Com insight into her projects and exclusives to many things such as THIS.
In fact, I felt pity for Leila at the beginning based on the stories she told me–from how Socrate Safo took her for granted and all that. But then, I later realised she was the problem and not these people when she thought her friendship with me meant that she would be receiving ONLY favourable publications on GhanaCelebrities.Com.
Anyone who knows me well would know that I don’t even tell my writers what to write and therefore I hate it when anyone tries to get me to just write in a way that benefits them all the time, especially to the detriment of others.
I hate to mention names but this time I will.
My friendship with Leila fell apart and she became a hater, like the others, talking crap about GhanaCelebrities.Com, a platform she actually lives on and reads every day, or myself almost every time–because I started working with Shirley Frimpong-Manso.The sad thing is, Shirley does not even know about this and considering the sort of person she is, she will not be happy her name has been mentioned in this piece. But that’s the truth.

I didn’t even know Leila had some hidden hatred for Shirley–something over the years, I’ve never seen a dose of the same from Shirley. From what I gather, Shirley doesn’t even recognise such tension. She’s busy being herself and making her films.
It all started when Shirley started doing great movies–I mean the days of The Perfect Picture, Scorned and A Sting in the Tale.
I actually loved Shirley’s work from afar though I had some criticisms. I wrote several supportive articles to bring her excellent works to our readers–even though I did not know her.
I had not at the time even spoken to her before. I just loved her work and every reasonable person would agree that her works are great. It was more refreshing at the time to see those amazing productions, coming out of Ghana…
But Leila hated this; to the extent that because we were friends, she considered it a betrayal that GhanaCelebrities.Com was always praising the works of another Ghanaian, a rising film-maker.
It was this toxic and gross stupidity that actually ended our friendship.
And what even made me decide she’s a “lunatic” was when she would comment on GhanaCelebrities.Com with many user names, all saying bad things about Shirley’s movies. I am talking about over 30 different comments by different usernames, but the same Los Angeles IP address under a single article.
As the Editor of GhanaCelebrities.Com, while readers cannot see more than usernames and comments–I am able to see the location of commenters by using their IP addresses, what devices they are using to access the website, how long they stay on the website and more.
Even when I realised it was the same IP address and device changing names just to insult another film maker but always poured out praises when articles about Leila were published, I couldn’t bring myself to just conclude that Leila was actually doing this.
The IP address was an LA IP and to be sure, I actually embedded a different IP tracker in an article and sent a direct link to Leila for her to check.
Bingo, when she clicked on it–her IP and time were recorded and to my shock, it was that same IP address.
That was when I said to myself; this woman is pathetic.
You have the opportunity to be in LA with investors giving you money to make movies and this is someone, living in Accra, hustling with her coins to make movies–and you still hate on her? What for? Even if you wouldn’t support her, why hate?
Note that, all these while, I did not have any personal relationship with Shirley–though we have been friends for some years now.
With time, as GhanaCelebrities.Com continued to support Shirley’s work, we got our first paid advertisement from Sparrow Productions–and then that’s how I became friends with Shirley and Ken.
Over the years that I have known Shirley and Ken, I have never spoken to any of them about this or Leila because these two are positive people looking to do their own things.
When it comes to Leila, the story is different. She actually got upset that we were promoting her movies and then at the same decided to promote one of Shirley’s movie had also been released around the same time.
What I hate most is, a friend asking me to hate someone or not to be friends with that person simply because they have their own issue with the person. That’s lame. If you have a problem with someone, that’s you and her, what has that gotten to do with me?
So when I pulled the plug on Leila, she started hating–at a point, she actually threatened to sue me and GhanaCelebrities.Com and even got one of her US lawyers to write to me about a frivolous defamation claim. She thought I was going to panic because some clueless lawyer she had paid had written to me from the United States.
I told them they have no claim and they can go to court. Since then, Leila has been saying all manner of nonsense about me or GhanaCelebrities.Com.
The thing is; you hate the Editor or owner of a blog, you even tried suing that same blog, you say that blog is useless but you, with all your senses, continue to READ that blog and comment on there under different names.

What kind of person are you? That’s Leila Djansi for you.
This same Leila at a point claimed that GhanaCelebrities.Com caused Nia Long not to work with her when her attempt to get her on a project failed.
Leila has also in the past said GhanaCelebrities.Com, particularly myself made her leave the Ghana Movie Industry. What kind of nonsense is this? If you have time, you can just put ‘Leila Djansi and Chris-Vincent’ or ‘Leila Djansi to Sue GhanaCelebrities’ Chris-Vincent’ into Google…
There are a lot of insane people behind computers, hating others and always pretending to be victims–when they are actually the perpetrators.
And Leila is one of them; so insecure and ungrateful. She pulled the same nonsense on Socrate Sarfo, the man who actually introduced her to filmmaking and helped her get a scholarship to the United States…
I’ve come to realise people like Leila who need mass validation to feel good will always exist and they take refuge behind keyboards. When I’ve even forgotten about her, she still follows my shadows.

It’s only a fool who continues to read a blog that she claims to hate, claims to be full of nonsense and says it’s a BP increasing blog.
