Asante Kotoko Team Bus Involved In Accident Around Nkawkaw – One Dead As Coach And Players Sustain Varying Degrees Of Injury

Tragedy struck Ghanaian football Wednesday evening as the team bus of Ghana’s only Porcupine Warriors, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, was involved in an accident.
The bus struck a stationary vehicle at Nkawkaw around 9:45pm last night.
According to numerous, though unconmfirmed online reports, the team’s kit manager Mr Asare died from the accident. The coach, Steve Pollack and most of the players reportedly sustained varying degrees of injury.
All the injured have been rushed to the Holy Family Hospital in Nkawkaw.
Kotoko were returning back to Kumasi from Accra after playing a week 22 Ghana Premier League game which they lost by a goal to nil to Inter Allies at the El-Wak sports stadium.
Management of the club has promised to release a statement on the accident soon.
