A Ugandan preacher has advised his congregation to bring offertory in dollars and pounds as well since God needs those currencies too.
Rev Canon Christine Shimanya, The Anglican Chaplain for Uganda’s Parliament, said some of his congregation have dollars and pounds, but then change it into shillings before giving offertory.
He’s reported as saying by the Daily Monitor that they don’t need to change the money because God needs dollars and pounds as well.
“Some Christians have dollars and pounds earned from international conferences; instead they change the money to shillings before bringing it to church as offertory. Bring those dollars and pounds, God needs them.”
No word yet on whether Shimanya’s congregation has started heeding to his call for forex.
