The Ghanaian football player who was arrested by police in Italy on suspicion of killing his mum and his 11 year old sister has confessed to the murder.
Solomon Nyantakyi, 21, stabbed the pair to death in their home in Parma on Tuesday and then fled.
He was later arrested by Police in Milan.
Italian football website Football Italia are now reporting that he has confessed the crime to police.
Solomon, a former very promising youth talent for Parma, suffered from depression and had reportedly ‘fallen in with a bad crowd’.
His elder brother, Raymond, returned from work late Tuesday to meet his mum and sibling horribly stabbed to death.
Italian football legend and current manager of Serie A side Bologna, Roberto Donadoni, said he remembered Solomon as a quiet lad during their time together at Parma, when Donadoni was the coach.
“I remember Solomon, he trained with us at Parma and I had him on the bench more than once during Serie A games,” he said.
“I remember he was very calm, even taciturn. If it really was him who did this, I can’t think what went through his mind. He was a midfielder in the Parma youth academy, then I don’t know what path he took after the bankruptcy.”
