Dr Sulley Ali-Gabass, the doctor who was jailed for defiling a 16 year old boy a few years ago, has revealed that he misses being able to celebrate the Eid with his family every Ramadan.
The doctor, who’s serving a 25 year jail term for the crime, said whilst they are allowed to celebrate the festivities inside, it does not compare to what happens on the outside.
He opened up to a Joy News team who paid him a visit at the Nsawam Medium Security Prisons.
“Back at home I used to organize small parties for my neigbours [both the Christians and muslims] so we enjoy [but] all these are memories that we cherish which we cannot do here,” he told Joy News’ Latif Idris.
“You can’t compare it [celebrating Ramadan at the prison] to celebrating Eid with your nuclear family [and] extended family when you visit each other and all that. So those nostalgic feelings definitely will overwhelm you at a point during the celebrations”.
Dr Sulley Ali-Gabass rose to national prominence a few years ago when a Joy News investigative report led to his arrest for grooming and sodomising a 16 year old boy numerous times.

He’s currently served two years of that term.
