The reigning champions of the National Science & Maths Quiz, Adisadel College, put up a brilliant performance on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, to keep alive their hope of retaining the trophy they won in 2016.
They competed against Suhum Senior High Technical School and Nkroful Agric Senior High School in the ninth one-eighth stage contest.
In what was largely a one-sided contest, the Santaclausians represented by contestants, Edward De-Graft Vanderpuije Quansah and Sylvester Afful Assan-Annobil left nothing to chance as they dominated the five (5) rounds of competition with an impressive win.
Adisadel College won by a huge margin of 38 points; the highest so far in the 2017 National Science & Maths Quiz. At the end of the contest, Nkroful Agric Senior High School and Suhum Senior High Technical School only managed to get 26 and 24 points respectively whilst Adisadel College pulled a total of 64 points.
According to Edward, one of the contestants, “The task of retaining the trophy is enormous and the pressure is very high but we trust in the Lord for a successful end.”
So far, a total of nine (9) schools have sailed through to the quarter-final stage of this year’s National Science & Maths Quiz and Adisadel college will now face Takoradi Senior High School and New Juaben Senior High School in the third (3rd) in series of Quarterfinal contests on Thursday, June 22, 2017.
