The family of the late Major Maxwell Mahama have called for his proposed monument to be erected at the Tema Roundabout on the Accra-Tema motorway – and for the roundabout to be named after Mahama.
The family made the call Thursday night during the vigil held for the late soldier, who was lynched by his fellow citizens in Denkyira-Obuasi.
The family have requested a monument to be erected in Mahama’s honour, but now have agreed on some suggestions for government to consider.
They want the monument to be stationed at Tema Roundabout, which should be renamed after the late Major.
Emmanuel Bamford, Mahama’s uncle, revealed that the family had discussed the issue and “everybody agrees with it,”
Bamford said they had sent their suggestion to government and are awaiting an official response.
