Ghanaian musician Kwaisey Pee (real name Akwasi Opoku) has disclosed that he’s so broke–and to keep up with appearances, he has been borrowing expensive cars from people.

Kwaisey Pee in a recent interview said the sale of CDs in Ghana has drastically fallen and without any paid shows coming his way, he’s left bankrupt, such that walking around is what it has come to but he borrows cars to avoid being seen on the streets…

In an interview on Accra-based Joy FM’s ‘Drive Time’ he said, “All is not well with me financially, there has been “ups and downs”.

“I’m broke as hell,” Kwaisey Pee added.

“When things get bad, there’s nothing much you can do. All you need to do is maybe get back into the studio and start working and see if you can get something but this time is not working,” he sadly said

He continued: “I feel like being alone, women always come in with a lot of expectations especially when you are a popular guy; they see you driving Bentley and they get excited without knowing the car is even borrowed.”

According to Kwaisey Pee, the last time he got a paid gig to play was in December 2016.
