I Won’t Perform In Denkyira-Obuasi Even For $10m – Shatta Wale

Shatta Wale

Shatta Wale has made it clear that he wants nothing to do with the town of Denkyira-Obuasi.

The town became the focus of the entire country last week after an army captain, now Major Maxwell Mahama, was lynched to death by a mob.

Shatta Wale has been radical in his response to the incident, calling for all those involved to be killed. He was also the first artist in the country to release a tribute song to the fallen officer.

Speaking on Peace Fm, Shatta Wale said no amount of money could make him perform in such a town.

He said:

“I will never go! For me knowing the type of people there that this is how they are, I don’t think my God will even allow me to go there no matter how much money. Even if you offer me $10 million, I will not go because money is the root of all evil. Even if you bring former American President George Bush’s security, I will not go. I don’t believe in money I believe in God and I want to say that no amount of money can make me go to a place with such evil minds.

“That town is a deadly town. Major is not the only person they have killed; they have killed a lot of people there. I am not saying this because I have prove but how mothers just stood by and watch and even the Assemblyman of the area told them to beat him, I don’t believe Major is the only person they have killed. That town is devilish”.
