Jade Osiberu’s debut film-ISOKEN was released in 15 selected UK Cinemas from May 26–and even for that activity packed bank holiday weekend, the movie received over 15,000 dollars in direct ticket sales per UK’s official box office mojo records for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The box office sales is said to be a record-breaking achievement as it beats any African romantic comedy which has over the years been released in UK Cinemas–despite the weekend hosting several Nigerian events in the UK which obviously affected ticket sales.
Just a month ago, Yvonne Okoro’s ‘Ghana Must Go’ movie also received a theatrical release in the UK in about 13 cinemas and for that weekend made about 8,000 dollars in sales.
Just like ‘Ghana Must Go’, ISOKEN was distributed in the UK by London-based film distribution company-Evrit Films.
ISOKEN is still showing from today (June 2) to next week Thursday (June 8) at Odeon Greenwich, Vue Westfield Stratford and Vue Manchester Printworks.
