Pastor Mensa Otabil has described the disturbing lynching of an army official in Denkyira-Obuasi as something which is part of our culture.
According to the head pastor of the International Central Gospel Church, it’s something we have done before and it’s something we would do again.
Speaking at an event Wednesday, Otabil commented on the issue of the moment.
“The big news in Ghana is what happened recently to the dear soldier who was lynched.” he said.
“But really what happened to him is cultural. It is in our culture; we do it every day and we will continue to do it.”
“You cannot say they [the mob] have not gone to school, we cannot say they do not know human rights but in that circumstance, they chose to exhibit that behaviour.
“We have become a lawless people”, Otabil sadly concluded.
