The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has pledged to the family of the lynched soldier, Capt. Maxwell Mahama, that those involved in his murder would not go scot free.
Taking to social media, the President expressed his condolences to the family of the slain officer, but also gave them an assurance for the capture of the perpetrators.
Capt. Mahama was killed by a mob in Denkyira-Obuasi who reportedly mistook him for an armed robber.
“My condolences to the family of Captain Maxwell Mahama on their tragic loss.” Nana Akufo-Addo wrote on twitter.
“I assure them that the perpetrators of this heinous crime will be arrested and dealt with in accordance with the laws of our country. No one involved in his murder will go free.”
Mahama is survived by a wife and two kids.
