Spanish giant football club, Barcelona has announced immediate passt Athletic Bilbao coach, Enersto Valverde, as their new manager.
The Catalan side struggled to keep their apt performance in this season’s campaign warranting the exit of Luis Enrique though he led the team win the Copa Del Rey this season and other 5 trophies including the UEFA Champions League and La Liga title during his reign.
Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu hinted last week that the club would announce its new coach on May 29.

New coach Valverde is 53 years old and a former Barca player. According to express.co.uk, Valverde was influential in the Barcelona team during his two years stay with the team when the club won the UEFA Cup (1989) and Copa del Rey (1990) under Johan Cruyff.
Enersto Valverde left Barcelona in 1990 after 22 appearances with 8 goals to his credit and later joined Athletic Bilbao, where he has a record of scoring 44 goals for the team from his 170 appearances as a striker.
Valverde’s coaching career was noticed when he managed the Basque club and being a hero in Greece, where he led Olympiakos to three league titles and two cups. Valverde has 15 years coaching career experience and managed other teams like Espanyol, Villarreal and Valencia.
According to sports pundits, the Spaniard is the best option for Barcelona as he is well known as a great defensive coach with the reputation of tightening the backlines of whichever club he goes to. It’s not a secret that Barcelona can score goals but the the team is easily scored too.
