How long could John Dumelo take being the butt of jokes for? Not long, it seems, as the actor has taken down his post from Saturday morning about a KNUST graduate bread seller.
Dumelo posted a photo of a man hawking selling bread in traffic, a KNUST graduate, with the actor wondering where it went wrong for the hawker.
“Just saw a KNUST grad hawking bread in traffic. What went wrong?” the actor wrote.
As anybody but a dunce like John can tell, that’s a highly offensive post in more ways than one. Almost immediately Ghanaians started descending on John, with musician/comedian A Plus insistent John has to apologise for his clueless action. GhanaCelebrities.Com editor Chris-Vincent Agyapong also dared John to produce his KNUST graduating certificate, to show why he gets to make fun of a young man who accomplished something John himself could not.
Things even became worse for John after it emerged our hawker, Kwaku Vito Boateng, was a young CEO, head of the A1 bakery in Kumasi, simply promoting his product in Accra.
After over a day of sustained ridicule, John has scrubbed the post from his IG timeline, as if it never happened.
This is what the front page of his IG looks now, so sign of the above post.
What he still hasn’t done is apologise for his conduct, and until he does we doubt Ghanaians would let this lie.
