‘Solo’ hitmaker Article Wan says as far as he’s concerned, music is solely about making money so if what you’re doing puts food on the table, it doesn’t matter what other people say.

Speaking to Showbiz, Article Wan said artists like Shatta Wale are constantly criticised for their lyrics and other stuff, but he keeps raking in the dough so it doesn’t matter what people say.

“Shatta Wale is making all the money now despite being criticised that his lyrics are nothing to write home about.

“Some people have even said that he is not a Dancehall artiste because he does different genres of music but once he is making money, I don’t think he should be bothered about all these talks”, Article Wan said.

He said people are not really interested in positive songs with great lyrics but simply what they can dance to. His own career never took off until he did a danceable tune like ‘Solo’.

“I did a lot of positive songs with good lyrics but no one paid attention until I dropped Solo which brought me to the limelight. In fact, I made a lot of money performing from one show to the other”, he said.

Touching on Nacee, who recently dropped a secular song with Guru and has been criticised for it, he said he sees nothing wrong with it as long as the money keeps coming.

“I don’t see why anyone should have a problem with Nacee doing a secular song if that is what will make him earn some money. The song is nice and everyone is jamming to it now,” he added.
