London was turned Blue last night after Chelsea defeated West Bromwich Albion by 1-0 to lift the 2016/17 English Premier League title.

Antonio Conte’s side took a commanding ten point lead over second placed Tottenham with the win, meaning with two games left for the North London side, it’s mathematically impossible for them to supplant Chelsea.

A nervy game at the Hawthorns seemed destined for a goalless draw, but substitute Michy Batshuayi stepped up, with 8 minutes left on the clock, to seal the victory and the magnificent title win.

This becomes Chelsea’s second title in three years, and their fifth since 2003, when a hitherto unknown Russian businessman named Roman Abramovich purchased the team and turned them into a worldwide phenomenon.

New manager Antonio Conte has the chance to win the double in his debut season, as Chelsea are scheduled to play Arsenal in the FA Cup final on May 27.
