President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo would name Sophia Akuffo as the next Chief Justice of Ghana.
The President is scheduled to make the announcement soon and all indications point towards the Justice who oversaw the Montie 3 case taking the mantle.
Justice Georgina Theodora Wood is stepping down after ten years as CJ, and another female has been lined to follow her.
According to reports, the choice came down to the two senior most Justices, Akuffo and William Atuguba, but the President decided to go with Akuffo because she is younger and would serve longer as CJ.
Sophia Akuffo, a graduate of Harvard Law, has been on the nation’s senior most bench since 1995.
