There are several “photographers” on social media, mostly people with DSLR and just a little understanding of how the camera works—and these people can mess your important events such as weddings with their horrible amateur photos.
I mean it’s easy to find a photographer in Ghana because almost every unemployed young man with a camera claims to understand the art but finding a photographer extraordinaire with a great sense of professionalism and true understanding of photography can be difficult.
My recent 3-day marathon wedding in Ghana to my gorgeous wife Elsie Anthony-Williams was captured by over 7 professional photographers and Efo Mawuli Akakpo was not just one of them but one of the best among the exceptionally talented great photographers who captured the beauty and joy of the days.
Efo Mawuli, a graduate from Central University started working as a professional photographer in 2015—after developing and building his interest in photography for many years, with the help of Kwasi Asante Agyapong of King Kwaku Ananse Photography.
Speaking to GhanaCelebrities.Com about his good and bad day with a camera, he said: “My good day with my camera is when a client is satisfied with my production, a bad day is when I am not getting my shots right which rarely happens.”
Efo Mawuli who describes himself as a portrait photographer that shoots events such as weddings, parties, concerts, outdoorings and others said being “able to tell a story with the photos I take and the fact that my production always leaves breath-taking memories in the minds of clients makes me fall in love more with this profession every day.”
As a self-employed photographer in a country where irrespective of the discount offered a lot of people would still be unwilling to pull out their wallets, Efo Mawuli faces a lot of professional challenges in the face of the expensive photographer equipment he uses to capture great moments for clients.
“The major problems I face, as a self -employed photographer in Ghana is the high cost of photographing gears in our part of the world and the bad attitude you need to put up with people because most people have developed certain perceptions as a result of working with unprofessional photographers. I’m always happy that I am able change these perceptions with my productions,” he said.
Though Efo has shot many events and has enjoyed shooting for many of his clients, he says, he “would really love to shoot Tyra Banks” and it’s because he loves her looks–and believes he can pull out great shots out of her with his camera.
If you need a photographer extraordinaire in Ghana with great and professional work ethics, then Efo Mawuli is the man to reach out to–mention my name and you may get a good discount.
