M.anifest Heads to Cannes To Represent Africa At Midem 2017

Ghanaian Rappers/Musicians in recent times have been working hard to put Ghana on the global map. Sarkodie and Efya are expected to thrill fans at the 1Africa Music Fest in London, Shatta Wale is set to tour the USA in July and now M.anifest is to represent Africa at Midem 2017 in Cannes, France.

Midem is the leading business event for the international music industry and its name has been abbreviated from “Marché International du Disque et de l’Edition Musicale“. The event is a well known musical trade conference which is organized annually and according to Wikipedia it started 1967.

This year’s event is slated to start from 6th-9th June and being a platform that offers indepth career knowledge for stakeholders, C.E.O of Def Jam Records, Latino superstar cum Founder of El Cartel Records Daddy Yankee and L. A. Reid, Chairman & CEO of Epic Records among others are expected to deliver keynote address on diverse issues in the world of Music.

With this edition called the Medim Artist Accelerator (MAA) programme which will be packed with conferences, competition, networking events and concerts, Wyclef Jean who is an Ambassador for this year’s event is expected to perform and interact with the finalists as they get all the exposure and network to boost their career to an international status.

Congrats to M.anifest who beat stiff competition from about 600 entrants from about 69 countries to be one of the 11 finalist and the only African among them.

The 2017 VGMAs Best Rapper is the 2nd Ghanaian to part take in the prestigious music/cultural exchange Programme as Young Ghanaian rapper Koo Ntakra was a finalist last year. King Sark was also involved with Midem before but NOT as a contestant as he was rather part of the Jury that selected 2016’s finalists.
