Actress Lydia Forson had a heartwarming message to send to veteran Nollywood star Ireti Doyle on the special occasion of her 50th birthday.
In a lengthy tribute to Doyle penned on social media, Forson recalls her personal encounters with the actress and how she left with a feeling of how friendly she was.
Forson’s post ended with a happy birthday wish to the actress, who celebrated her half century on May 3.

#ItsALongOne 2010 I did my first major movie premiere in Nigeria ( The Perfect Picture) it was an all Ghanaian cast, and many people didn’t even know who I was save for the few who’d seen me on a reality show I did (yes I’ve been around).
In the lead up to the premiere we had to do press rounds and our first stop was on this lovely woman’s show. I was nervous and it didn’t help that I’d presumed she was not a nice person judging by how serious she looked. (never judge a book by its cover, cliche but so true). Minutes into the interview we instantly bonded and I was put at ease, and when we took a commercial break she turned to me and said ” I see you breaking into Nollywood soon, I really see you making it here”. I was surprised because although I did like Nollywood I was comfortable doing my own thing in Ghana (that time too na my fame come basaaaa ??) and I wasn’t necessarily planning to stage a “let me break into Nigeria heist “; nonetheless I was flattered.
Fast forward several years later, we met at the AMVCA photo shoot for the years nominees; both of us had been nominated for best actress in different categories. I wasn’t sure she would remember me so I kept quiet for the most part (yes y’all I do shut up every now and then ?). When she finished her make up she turned to me and said ” Well look at you, do you remember what I told you when I first met you ?”. Imagine that?!!! She actually remembered me and what she said to me in the one and ONLY time we met.
I can go on and on about how that made me feel, but Instagram no go gree. So I just want to say thank you so much for seeing in me what many weren’t even paying attention to. Happy Birthday @iretidoyle , 50 has never looked so good!! ? #50isthenew20
