Gospel singer Sonnie Badu has been awarded with a ‘key to the city’ of Brooklyn, New York.

Badu was honoured by the President of the Borough of Brooklyn, Eric L.Adams, at a ceremony during which Badu received two other major awards.

Badu was also presented with a honorary doctorate in Divinity by the CICA Internaitonal University and Seminary in Houston, in the state of Texas.

‘Dr Badu’ was also named a UN Special Ambassador, CDSE (Commander of most Distinguished Order of special Envoy), for ‘sacred music’.
