Rapper Medikal has denied persistent rumours that he’s a ‘fraud boy’, instead revealing that he made all his money via other means before becoming a musician.
The disappointed VGMA nominee spoke to Delay on her show over the weekend and he opened up on several issues including his relationship with Sister Deborah.
Born Samuel Frimpong, the rapper revealed to Delay that he has his own money which he made as a sales person prior to his music career. He said that was the source of his wealth and not internet fraud as some claim.
“I have never done that (internet fraud). I don’t know why people tag me with that. I don’t do any work apart from music now. I used to sell things. I sold cars, phones and stuff. Right now I’m not into the car business again. I only help someone sell them.”
He said the sales business he was into before music helped him purchase some vehicles and a house for himself.

“I had to do some one or two. (before music). I hadn’t blown up yet so to get money from music would have been hard. We wouldn’t have been playing gigs for 20,000 or 25,000 if I didn’t have a hit record by now.”
His acquisitions so far includes a house in Kasoa, which he doesn’t live in now, a Mercedes-Benz C 300 4matic, and of course, Sister Derby.
When asked by Delay if Derby’s fame helped his career, he gladly admitted it.
“I will say yes because she is a very a respected person in the industry. She’s an artist, a model and many other things and people respect her for that.”
