President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s was visited Friday by the Gambian President Adama Barrow, who came to express his immense gratitude to the President and Ghana for standing behind the people of his country in resolving last year’s election impasse.
However, the aftermath of what was a feelgood meeting has been soured after images out of the Flagstaff House showed a protocol gaffe which is being talked about on social media.
The Ghana flag in the President’s office was turned upside down during the meeting, with the green portion at the top and consequently, the red at the bottom.
As we all remember from primary school, the arrangement of colours in the Ghanaian flag is ‘red, gold and green’, and not ‘green, gold and red’. (LOL)

The mishap has been noticed and is driving social media conversation – with former Foreign Minister Hannah Tetteh even weighing into the fray.
Protocol must have been distracted. I hope next time our flag is turned the right way up. pic.twitter.com/p20Vlvpl2r
