The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has been enstooled as a chief in Jamestown, Accra.
At a durbar held at Mantse Agbonaa Sunday, the chiefs of the Ngleshie Alata traditional area bestowed the honour on the commander-in-chief.
Nana Addo was given the stool name “Nii Kwaku Ablade Okogyeaman I,” to wit “Royal Warrior; One who fights to redeem his people.”
The paramount chief of the Ngleshie Alata Traditional Area, Oblempong Nii Kojo Ababio, who bestowed him with his stool name, said the President was being honoured for his distinguished career as an advocate for human rights and the rule of law.

Nii Kojo Ababio also appealed to the President to aid modernise the area, which remains underdeveloped despite it being the heart of the capital.
