VGMA Artiste of the Year Joe Mettle has a crown waiting for him in heaven, according to someone with knowledge of such matters.
Mettle fulfilled a long awaited dream of the gospel fraternity with his win of the top honour of the night at the 2017 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Speaking to Showbiz, Evangelist Lord Kenya said by winning souls for Christ, Mettle has a crown in heaven waiting for him.
“Once your album is about winning souls, you have won an award, you will be given a crown in Heaven,” he said.
But the former secular rapper turned preacher warned Mettle that simply winning awards should not become his focus, but that the core purpose of winning souls should remain his priority.

“…I don’t think you winning the award makes you extraordinary, soul-winning is the ultimate so your focus should not be on award-winning but soul-winning.” he warned Joe Mettle.
“Don’t let awards be your priority, it’s vanity. I want him to know that his reward is in Heaven so he should focus on winning souls, he started it way way back so he should focus on what he’s been doing,” he added.
“…It is okay to be appreciated but that should not be the focus because awards will pass away, after a while, it will be forgotten but nothing in this world can be equated to winning souls,”
