The eighth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise, ‘The Fate of the Furious’, was released over the Easter weekend, and already it’s smashing box office records left, right and centre.
The herculean record breaking feat of 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which set a new global box office record with its opening weekend sales, has finally been broken by a worthy successor.
‘The Fate of the Furious’ made $532.5m during its opening weekend, surpassing the Force Awaken’s tally of $529m.
The story of Vin Diesel and his crew continues in the new franchise, which promises to surpass multiple box office records during its run.
