Plane Crashes Into Truck In Portugal – Five Reported Dead Including Truck Driver

A plane in the Portuguese town of Tires has crashed into a parked truck near a supermarket, killing as many as five people (so far).

The plane, a Swiss registered light aircraft, had just taken off from a local airfield enroute to Marseille when the crash occurred, killing all onboard as well as the driver of the truck it crashed into.

The cause of the crash is currently unknown.

Those dead includes the plane’s pilot and his three passengers – made up of three French citizens and one Swiss.

The BBC reports first responders are currently on scene dealing with the situation. Tires is a city 20km west of the Portuguese capital of Lisbon.
