Nii Ayi Tagoe, a member of the VGMA Board, has revealed that the huge clamour for Medikal to win awards at the just ended VGMA’s did not translate into votes for the AMG Business star.

Speaking on Starr Fm’s Morning Zoo Saturday, Nii Ayi Tagoe said in the voting for the Best New Artiste of the Year, which Fancy Gadam won over Medikal, the latter received only 13 votes.

“The people who made noise for these artistes on social media didn’t really go out to vote. Medikal had 13 votes from the general public for the New Artiste of the Year category,” Nii Ayi Tagoe said.

Nii Ayi’s comments come after fan complaints on social media over why Gadam won the award over Medikal.

According to Nii Ayi, in the future, people should put their money where their mouths are and vote for their favourite stars.
