Armed Robbers Return Ghc 51,900 To Owner After He Invoked Some Local Dieties To Curse Them

A group of armed robbers in the Upper West region have reportedly returned a colossal sum of Ghc 51,900 to the traders they stole it from after the traders invoked about 8 deities on whoever stole their money.

According to a mynewsgh.com report, the robbers returned the money to the doorstep of the trader they stole it from after hearing about the rituals carried out targeted at them.

The armed robbers had been targeting traders in Wa who trade between the Upper West Regional Capital and a Burkinabe town, always robbing when they were on their trade routes.

According to the mynewsgh report:

The [stolen] money belongs to a group of traders who ply their trade between Wa the Upper West regional capital and Leo, a trading town in the republic of Burkina Faso.

“…Due to incessant attacks by armed robbers from the Ghana side of the border especially from Tumu in the Sisala East district capital, the traders devised a new way of collecting every trader’s trading capital and gather the money in bulk to be given to one of the traders for safe keeping before embarking on their trips.

“It was revealed that due to this new method adopted by the traders it was difficult to rob the traders even if accosted by the robbers on the highways since searches conducted on the traders during robberies proved futile.”

The robbers however, later discovered this trick and hit the house of the one keeping the traders money, brutalising him and making away with the combined cash total.

But the furious traders invoked curses on the robbers, calling on as many as eight deities to strike them dead if they did not return the stolen money.

The robbers reportedly got wind of the curses, and returned the money to the doorstep of the robbed trader – apparently they did not want any trouble.

Mynews adds:

The Wa police have confirmed that a case of robbery was lodged with them and the statement of the victim taken.

According to the Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP joy Afagbedzi the complainant later came to report that someone had deposited the amount at his doorstep which was confirmed when police visited his home.

He disclosed that police are unaware of the invoked curses as their work is only limited to protecting lives and property.
