There is an ongoing discussion whether Ghana’s self acclaimed dancehall King, Shatta Wale is a Living Legend or not. Afropop music star Mr. Eazi ignited the debate when he revealed that he had an interview concerning West African music and he couldn’t stop referencing Shatta Wale in his submissions so therefore Wale is a Living Legend.

Arguments have been made that a true Living Legend must possess an overwhelmingly known cherished virtue and conduct to acquire a Legendary accolade and Charles Nii Armah (Shatta Wale) rather has the opposite. Citing his vengefully arrogant demeanor as what propelled him to be famous and nothing positive worthy to be called a Legend.

Another school of thought has it that being a legend means one has to be popular with something unique whether negative or positive and Wale falls under this category so truly he is a Living Legend. Google’s definition of a “Legend” was used to back this point.
