The Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Abdul-Nashiru Issahaku, has resigned his post.
The Central Bank Governor has been at post since April 2016, when he was appointed by then President John Dramani Mahama.
The 55 year old replaced Dr Henry Wampah, who resigned in the wake of a scandal involving his daughter marrying a British fugitive.
Dr Issahaku’s resignation comes amid a scandal over the salaries paid to CEO’s of top government institutions. It’s not clear if that led to his resignation, or it’s simply a changing of the guard for the new government to appoint their own person.
