I grew up watching Pascaline Edwards in movies as a beautiful, assertive young lady. As a young man myself now, Edwards looks every inch as stunning as my little brain remembers her to be.

That’s despite her just turning 47 – the actress has been anticipating the milestone on social media the past few days and its finally here – March 28, 2017.

Edwards has shared some remarkable photos online to mark the day and we have some of those breathtaking shots here for your enjoyment. But the actress also celebrated her journey with a birthday message on this momentous day.

She wrote:

In my 47 years, the same way that I’ve been deeply and unconditionally loved, I’ve been doubted, hated, talked about, made fun of, hurt, lied to, lied on, broken and at my wits end. I’ve struggled and endured pain. The fact that I’m still standing speaks volumes. The world sees me even when I feel invisible. I appreciate my strength, stransparent heart and stubbornness. Nothing can keep me down and no one can steal my joy. I won’t give up, I continue to stand tall with God as my shepherd, inspiration and backbone. I’m so proud of the woman I’ve become. It is well with my soul. Happy birthday to me.
