The Ghanaian player who thanked his ‘wife and girlfriend’ in a tv interview after winning the man of the match award in a South African league game says his wife is not worried about him cheating on her.
According to him, he calls his daughter as his girlfriend and his wife knows that so there’s no problem at home.
“My family knows that I call my daughter my girlfriend. That’s what I was talking about. I don’t have a girlfriend,” Anas said in a follow up interview to clear up the first one.
“I love her so much. She’s given me two beautiful children. She is fine. She knows what kind of man I am so I am not worried,” he told the BBC.
Anas became a world famous celebrity in the viral video, in which he appeared to slip up and thank both his wife and girlfriend.
“Thank you for this, I appreciate my fans. My wife and girlfriend…I mean my wife, sorry to say,” Anas said in the video.
“I’m so sorry…I love you so much, I love you so much from my heart!” he quickly added to placate his wife.
If his wife was aware he was referring to his daughter, why did he backtrack so fast and apologise to her?
Anyway, Anas, who has been married for seven years, is taking positives from the experience.
“I’m famous now – people around the world know me,” he told the BBC.
