French club Paris Saint-Germain have written to the European football governing body UEFA, expressing all the different ways in which they believe the match official at the centre of their historic Camp Nou collapse screwed them over and helped Barcelona qualify.
The French side were on the sharp end of a 6-1 mauling by Barcelona, who needed a win by five clear goals to qualify after losing the first leg of their quarter final clash by 4-0 in Paris.
And Barca managed a win by that margin exactly, although they were considerably helped on the way by a slew of refereeing errors, including granting Barcelona two debatable penalties and denying a much clearer one to PSG.

Already, some fans have started a petition to have the game replayed, whilst some reports have claimed that the German referee on the night, Deniz Aytekin, faces a demotion by UEFA for his poor performance.
PSG, nevertheless, have sent their own letter to UEFA, in which they list all their grievances. They stress that they aren’t looking to make excuses for the loss or call for a replay, but are simply interested in making sure their grievances are heard.
