I’m Not Forcing Music Onto My Kids – Okyeame Kwame

Okyeame Kwame recently roped his two young kids, Sir and Sante, into his musical career by featuring them on a new single ‘Saucing’.

Whilst the song is making waves so far and the two kids looked like they were having the time of their lives, OK has received accusations from some quarters that he is forcing his kids into doing music at too young a age.

But responding to the allegation, the ‘rap dacta’ said that with music being such a big part of his family the children developed their own interest in it.

“Music is in my father’s DNA and so far as you are born into that line, you can’t run away from it.” he told NYDJ in an interview.

“It’s a precious gift to my family. If you follow my Instagram accounts, you realise how my kids get to play with words. It’s something they love to do.”

The rapper born Kwame Nsiah-Apau then narrated a little anecdote about his daughter Sante to show how musically savvy she was.

“Would you believe I once asked my daughter Sante to scratch my back for me because it was itching and she said, “Daddy, everyday scratch my back, why? Am I your DJ?”

“You can go to my family house right now and it will shock you how my nephews get to rap”

Asked whether he would do more projects with his kids in the future, Okyeame Kwame said it would depend on a lot of factors, but he was not ruling anything out.
