The office of former first lady Lordina Mahama has denied reports circulating that she was the victim of an armed robbery attack.
News circulating on social media Sunday, emanating from a website, claimed Lordina had been shot twice in the leg after an armed robbery attack in which $600,000 was stolen.
But a statement from her office issued Monday completely debunked the story.

The statement said the former first lady had not been the victim of any attack, and the denial has become neccesary due to receiving numerous calls from concerned friends and family commiserating with her about the incident.
“…The residence of the former first family is secured by personnel of the Ghana Police Service and National Security. Neither the Mahama Household nor the former First Lady has spoken to any police officer about a robbery that never occurred”, the statement concluded.
