EIB Gifts Evelyn Boakye GhC5000 + Is The Marwako Case Taking A Xenophobic Trend?

Ablenkpe Marwako staff, Evelyn Boakye who was allegedly assaulted by Jihad Chaaban at work has been gifted GhC 5000 by the Duffour Foundation, which is the charity wing of HODA Group Of Companies, the mother company of GhOne’s EIB.

C.E.O of EIB, Nathan Kwabena Anokye Adisi (Bola Ray) at the presentation said the gesture is to demonstrate that the EIB media house is poised to impact the lives they report on as a way to show their commitment to making Ghana better.

The Duffour Foundation has also promised to take up the full cost of Evelyn’s medical bills.

However, an equally important matter of concern is the light this case is receiving at the neglect of other worse treatments some employees receive from their Ghanaian Employers. GhanaCelebrities.com after Evelyn’s case also published the story of how a Ghanaian Employer in Tema invited thugs to her workplace to torture a worker who she suspected to have stolen from her. 

The neglect or less attention given to other violent and inhumane treatments some Ghanaian workers suffer at their workplaces is luring enough for one to believe the Marwako Incident is likely taking a xenophobic trend, a South African growing menace that Hannah Tetteh on Class Fm once said is possible in Ghana.

But Truly Is The Marwako Incident Taking A Xenophobic Trend?

As most complains from the Marwako assault are directed at how these Foreign Bosses treat their Ghanaian Employees to the extent where Lawyer of Jihad Chaaban had to say his client though a Lebanese has Ghanaian traits too.
