An 18 year old athlete is making all the news after she chased down and had arrested a much older man who snatched her phone and made off with it.
Elizabeth Adarkwa, a former student of Kumasi Girls Senior High, is our heroine and she carried out her act of bravery at Asafo in Kumasi.
The suspect, James Amesiba, snatched Elizabeth’s phone from her whilst in a taxi and making a call.
She was returning from a church program with her brother when they got stuck in heavy traffic.

Amesiba, a notorious phone snatcher in the vicinity, took advantage of the traffic and her decision to make a call, snatched the phone from her arms and bolted.
With the taxi’s locks malfunctioning, Elizabeth jumped through the taxi’s windows, took off her footwear and gave chase to the thief.
A track star whilst in school (100m, 200m, 400m), she reportedly chased him for about ten minutes, caught up to the him, overpowered him and screamed for help.
Some nearby gentlemen helped her subdue the thief, who was then handed over to police.
The Asokwa District Police Commander, DSP George Bawa, confirmed the story to the Daily Graphic and said the suspect would be arraigned before court Monday.
