Second lady Samira Bawumia has waded into the ongoing Marwako saga, calling the incident ‘unacceptable’ and calling for the perpetrator to be punished.
Mrs Bawumia, who has been wowing all of Ghana with her incredible grace and poise since hitting the spotlight, hosted Joy Fm’s Super Morning show on International Women’s Day and passed some comments on the trending issue.
According to her, this incident was ‘one too many’ – referring to the perception some foreigners mistreat Ghanaians in our own backyard.

Samira added that Chaaban, the perpetrator, needs to be punished.
“I think it’s one too many but I think it’s the employee who needs to be penalised.” she said.
“It’s unacceptable and I saw yesterday the Gender Minister was there with the lady and I’m sure they are going to push this to its logical conclusion,”
Mrs Bawumia might have her wish soon as Jihad Chaaban, the Lebanese Marwako supervisor accused of dipping Ghanaian Evelyn Boakye’s face into pepper, appeared before court today. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and has been remanded in police custody, to reappear on March 16.
